Bambinex Swim / Trainer Pants Overview

Bambinex 2 in 1 Swim Nappy and Trainer Pants are incredibly versatile as they are swimming nappies and training pants in one. Ideal multi use toilet training product so you can get plenty of wear out of them and not just for swimming.

Bambinex training pants comes with a terry cotton layer giving light absorbency inside to catch wee accidents but not enough to weight baby down while in the pool.

The leak-stopping elastic band around the waist and thighs trap the stools inside the nappy, thereby preventing them from getting into the swimming pool.

Bambinex swim trainer pants have poppers at the side so if little one should have a pooey accident you can lay them down for effortless changing. The side poppers allow easy access changes and avoiding that terrible "poo legs" from having to pull down a pair of poo filled pants (I talk from experience here!)

To use as a swim nappy:

Isn't it fun to go swimming with your baby in a swimming pool, paddling in the sea or romping about on the beach? Sadly, you can't always avoid those little accidents, which is where Bambinex swim and training pants come in. A washable nappy cannot be used for this, as it would sag due to the large quantity of water the nappy takes in. Bambinex swim nappy catches your child's stools thanks to the anti-leak elastic borders by the legs and the tummy. When accidents happens, you can remove the swim nappy very easily thanks to the popper buttons along both sides. Because the swim and training pants only have a small liner, they will not hang down and hinder your child's movement. Swim nappies are required for babies and toddlers at most swimming pools at home and abroad. After just a few days of swimming, washable swim nappies work out cheaper compared to disposable nappies and it saves you a lot of waste to throw out!

To use as training pants:

Toddlers can't be toilet-trained overnight. A shame, but this is just how it is. Potty training requires effort from both your toddler and the parents. The signals are usually pretty clear when your toddler is ready for it. They will prefer the potty and the nappy no longer seems as nice. However, there will be some little accidents in the first few days and weeks. Your toddler will get to the potty too late sometimes, leading to wet trousers or pants. That means you need some practice pants to resolve this. The Bambinex training pants are ideal for easing the transition. The pants have a waterproof outer layer and a small absorbent layer knitted in, which can catch a small amount of pee. Your child will feel the wetness, though, which will help with toilet-training. Your child can easily take the pants off and put them back on themselves, and they are a lot less thick than a nappy, so they will fit neatly under clothing. The pants can also be used as just a swim nappy or swim pants before, during and after toilet-training. So there's nothing to lose!

Sizing

The swim/trainer pants come in 4 sizes from a very trim 5kgs up to 20kgs. They do come up quite small so if in doubt go up a size.

  • XS 5-8kgs
  • Small 8-11kgs
  • Medium 11-15kgs
  • Large 14-20kgs

Sold in a pack of two so you always have a spare.

Double Layer Nappying

Please be aware that most swim schools and many public pools insist on the Splash About Happy Nappy Swim system with double nappy layers.  If they do don't worry the Bambinex swim nappy is perfect as the underneath layer and many parents prefer the Bambinex swim nappy underneath due to the soft fabrics.

Actually does both
Rating:

I’ve been flirting with potty training my little one and I can safely say these will hold a morning wee and keep floor/trousers/prams dry until you can get to a location to change them. Additionally they will fit under a happy nappy and are a great alternative to pull up style inners as they actually popper on both sides (never been an issue for mine but if you know you know).

Warning: TNL isn’t lying when they say they run small. I got a medium for my almost 12kg 18 month old and it’s a tight squeeze but I reckon that they have to be tight to work well as a swim nappy. Will definitely buy larges when my kid grows out of them if needed but if you know you have a chunky monkey you may be better off with a more generously sized 2 in 1 pant to start.

Love the style and practicality of these. Just wish I’d sized up. I went for medium for 12.5kg baby and they’re really quite small the edges leave red marks around the legs.

These a great value training pants - with two in each pack and double use as a swimming nappy. The key difference between these and other similar products is the poppers, which means they can be easily removed in case of a poo accident (without pooey legs!). They are fairly absorbent, caught a small wee for us and my toddler found them easy to pull up and down. Overall, a great product.

We used it currently as a swimming pants and it's really good. I love the idea that you can put it on as pants and take it off as like a normal nappy because the side buttons.

These swim nappies are great for a swim in the pool. Our toddler had a poo whilst swimming, but didn't make anyone aware. The nappy held it all in. Very reliable!

Bambinex swim nappy

I've given it 4 stars as I can't yet comment on its effectiveness against baby doing a poo in the pool, but otherwise it is easy to get on and off and doesn't get in the way of swimming. It fits well unlike other brands I tried which were like speeds! This covers the whole backside.
