Elimination Communication EC

Elimination Communication is also known under many other names such as EC, natural infant hygiene, infant potty training, infant pottying, nappy free toilet training, baby led potty training or diaper free. It is a process that can be started right from birth or with a young baby. It is more than simply early potty training.

Begin ec with nappy free time on a waterproof and absorbent change mat. Start ec by looking for your baby's cues before they toilet. You can start this process even with newborn babies. Baby Eliminates often after or during a feed so these are good times to offer the potty. Offering the potty during nappy changes and before a bedtime bath are other common times to integrate EC into your daily life.

Cloth Nappies for EC

Reusable nappies fit perfectly with the EC concept as they are more environmentally friendly than disposable nappies but also if you have nappies without a built in staydry layer they will also keep the child feeling wet which helps them to learn. When your child has a miss you just change them into a clean nappy. You can continue to use the washable nappies to support you and your baby until they are fully potty trained.
