Wizard Duo All In Two Nappy System

Wizard Duo wraps are for use ONLY with the Wizard Duo inserts. The inserts are purchased separately.

Wizard Duo is the revolutionary all in two nappy system from Mother-ease.

The Wizard Duo is a slim nappy consisting of two parts

  1. The Wizard Duo nappy insert
  2. The Wizard Duo covers

The Wizard Duo absorbent nappy insert poppers in and out of the Wizard Duo waterproof cover to make a nappy that goes on in one simple step.  The Wizard Duo inserts all give full width coverage and will not bunch.

Unlike other all in two nappies there is elastic all the way round the nappy insert This ensures you get the same excellent containment as you do from a two part nappy system but with the convenience of a one layer system.

The Wizard Duo Wraps fastens with poppers and are adjusted in waist and length through a series of poppers. Unlike many other brands of wraps the Motherease Duo wraps have double elastication at the waist front and back giving you excellent containment and fit.

The Wizard Duo is very similar to the all in one Wizard Uno except the Wizard Duo is better for longevity

How do I use it?

This is the Nappy Lady method of making all in two nappy changes swift and efficient

  • Put baby in a clean Wizard Duo (cover and insert attached inside)
  • At the same time make a spare Wizard Duo set up and left on the changing table (cover and clean insert inside)
  • At the next nappy change time take the entire Wizard Duo cover and wrap off and set aside
  • Put baby in the clean spare set you made up earlier
  • Put baby somewhere safe or toddler is off to play
  • Now take out the soiled insert from the original cover and store in the nappy bucket
  • Put a clean insert back in this prevously worn wrap and this is now your spare set for next nappy change
  • Repeat this cycle of switching between wraps throughout the day.
  • Change and wash Wizard Duo wraps after 4 wears each wrap or if a wrap becomes soiled.

Make sure you watch our demo video above on how to use the system and rotate your wraps for ease of use.

Wizard Duo Nappy Fabric Options

Stay Dry Inserts

Wizard Duo Stay Dry Nappy Inserts are the best selling Duo option.

The Stay Dry Inserts are made from a Mother'ease exclusive high tech super absorbent hypoallergenic 100% polyester fabric.

  • Easy to rinse
  • Super quick to dry
  • Moisture wicking technology means they are dry to the touch even when wet.
  • Super durable fabric which helps prevent rashes like no other on the market.

Mother-ease do not use fleece in their reusable nappies or on nappy boosters like other brands do. Fleece slows absorption and that can cause leaks so Motherease had their own special staydry fabric created.

Mother-ease Staydry fabric is entirely different to any other staydry fabric on the market and it is made JUST for them!  Mother-ease use a specially knit fabric that creates a stay dry barrier by the weave in the fabric. It allows the wetness to easily pass through, but not back. Keeping the babies skin dry to the touch.

Another neat aspect is that they include a cooling yarn as well. This keeps the temperature inside the nappy lower - cooler for baby and reduces the growth of bacteria.

Stay Dry Nights

Same Stay Dry Insert as above but higher absorbency for night time.

The night inserts have green stitching so you can tell the difference between days and nights.

If you need your night time nappy capacity boosted even further then a booster can be simply placed between the cover and insert.

Natural Unbleached Cotton

Natural Cotton is the cheapest of the Wizard Duo insert options and is perfect for families that require natural materials next to babies skin. The cotton insert is suitable for the daytime but for night time would require boosting or use of the Stay Dry Night Insert.

Great nappies but big for small baby

I love the ease of use of these nappies! I had done the newborn hire kit with the same nappies and loved those. They wash well, they fit snug and they seemed comfy for baby. I would say that the one size is still too big for my 4 month old, so we haven't been able to start using this purchase yet. I wish there was an intermediate size in between newborn and the one size, and even better if there were bigger sized hire kits!

I bought this kit when it was on an offer. I already had some nappies from a trial kit so i didn't need a full set. I was cheeky and emailed to ask if I could have certain prints in the kit. A lady (Jemma?) kindly opened the box to check what was already in the set and swapped them to the ones I wanted. My fox made daughter was delighted with her new foxy wrap and I love my prism.

Disapointed with the Nappies and the Nappy Lady

We took advice from the Wendy and bought the started kit, very keen to start using these nappies and they arrived in good condition and on time. We were emailed a .pdf on washing advice from the manufacturer and we read and followed that to the dot. We read the Basic and Full Washing Guide on the TNL's website and followed that perfectly too, but unfortunately after only 4 months the outer layers all started leaking. We washed the cotton / polyester nappies on ever use (soil) and the outer waterproof layers at least once every use with soap, a full wash every and a full washing machine was with our normal clothes wash, as recommended by TNL.

I contacted Wendy at TNL for support and advice once it was clear that all the waterproof layers were leaking to various extents and apparently she contacted the manufacturer (I have no proof of this), but the official response was that given that all the outer layers had failed it was apparently our fault and couldn't possibly be a manufacturing issue, and that we had apparently mistreated / washed the nappies in an inappropriate manner. We cannot think where we went wrong as we were careful to read all the documents, but the waterproof layer is extremely fragile and not reliable in the long-term in our experience. Every day and night, pee would leak onto our son's clothes and make him cold, not to mention increasing our washing volume.

Overall, TNL provided little to no support or understanding for this situation except for referring us again to their washing instructions that we had already followed. On a call with Wendy, the owner of the company, Wendy openly admitted that the red outer layer (of the 5 outer waterproof layers provided in the kit) was lower quality than the others (and it defiantly did leak more than the others) but when this was brought up in email her colleague, Anna, subsequently denied that Wendy would have every said such a statement.

Response:

We are sorry that you remain disappointed with our findings and subsequent support.

With the purchase of every Motherease products we provide the Manufacturers specific washing guidelines via a downloadable pdf.

Poor or inadequate washing methods can be detrimental to the longevity of cloth nappies. Sadly, in the circumstance of your nappies, these guidelines were not adhered to, with the use of soap, non bio detergent and irregular machine washing. As a result, the waterproofing on your wraps has deteriorated and is no longer repellent.

The wraps were purchased outside of the manufacturer's 6 month warranty, which covers production faults. It does not cover staining, fading, slight variances in snap placement, leaks, pilling, fabric holes or tears, and loose stitching resulting from wash routine.

During your communications with The Nappy Lady, you were confused which of your nappies/wraps were leaking. The order was purchased as a preprepared kit from the manufacturer so there was some difficulty understanding what you had enclosed within the kit. It became apparent on our conversation and following the photo you sent us on our request that you had both an older version wrap (yellow) and newer version wrap (cranberry) included within your kit. Reference was made to the newer design, being a thinner more breathable fabric and I am sorry if you misunderstood this to be a suggestion of a lesser grade product. The newer version wraps are considered an improvement, are now featured across the whole Motherease range with the older version no longer in production. We spent some time troubleshooting, investigating and I offered a method to test the components to help establish what your issue could be. Unfortunately through investigations, it became clear that the waterproofing on the majority of your wraps had been damaged through their use.
