HERO Nappy Overview

The Hero nappy by Tots Bots is a very clever hybrid one size reusable nappy system. Hero is a two piece nappy that comes with a pocket and a removable snap in dry pad. It can be an all in one, a pocket, a newborn, a one size and a training pant all options rolled into one nappy! hero is the ultimate reusable nappy for absorbency, fit and comfort.

Hero reusable nappies offer versatile absorbency perfect for daytime but if you have a heavy wetter or need a longer wear time such as a long car journey you can popper in an additional power up booster pad (available separately) to get you the wear time your baby needs. I also love the flexibility of the pocket opening at the back of the nappy. The opening allows you to stuff the nappy with additional inserts. If you have spare or old inserts from other nappies you can reuse these in the Hero pocket making your system even more economical. Once stuffed the inserts are kept secure and out of the way, ideal for nursery or occasional childcare.

The Hero nappy can be used for night time for average wetters when combined with additional inserts.

Hero reusable nappies isn't the quickest drying nappy due to the wonderfully absorbent bamboo fabric. Don't let this put you off however, because all the components separate out and the greater airflow provided by the pocket opening speeds up the overall drying time.

The wide double elastication at the back of the Hero nappy waist not only gives brilliant poo containment from day one but is soft, gentle and comfortable for little one. Poonamis will be a thing of the past.

Components & Absorbency

HERO reusable nappies is made up of 2 main components

  1. Base nappy
The base has an absorbent bamboo core which absorbs up to 225ml and a pocket opening at the back for stuffing when extra absorbency is needed. Staydry buffer zones keep wetness locked away in the core and away from baby's skin.

  2. Hero snap in pad
The Hero snap in Bamboo Charcoal pad holds up to 215ml has a top layer of ultra performance sports fabric that stays soft, dry, cool, stain and odour free next to baby's skin.  The same staydry fabric can be found on the Nora reusable sanitary pads, try it yourself and see how dry your baby will feel!

  3. OPTIONAL Power Up pad for heavy wetters (available to purchase separately) holds up to a further 210ml

Care & Warranty

Tots Bots Care Guide

  • Prewash nappy twice before first use. Nappy will reach full absorbency after approximately 10 washes.
  • Wash dark colours separately
  • Wash with non-bio powder or TotsBots Potion
  • No harsh stain removers or bleach. They may cause irritation and can damage the waterproof membrane
  • Don't use pastes of nappy powder directly applied to nappies as this is too concentrated.
  • No fabric softeners. They will reduce absorbency.
  • Max wash temperature 60 degrees.
  • Ideally line dry or tumble dry on cool.
  • If using a nappy cream always use a nappy liner - ideally a disposable paper liner.

Tots Bots Warranty

Tots Bots offers a 1 year guarantee against manufacturing faults. The 1 year guarantee starts from when the item was purchased, not first used. If you believe you have an item with a manufacturing fault, you will need to contact us with details and photos of the fault. We will confirm your purchase date from our records. TotsBots may require the items to be inspected before a warranty decision is made, we will inform you if this is required in your case.  TotsBots warranty decision is final.

Tots Bots Warranty is VOID when:

  • Using harsh stain removers, biological detergents or bleaching
  • Boil washing
  • Continually tumble drying on a warm or hot heat, or directly on radiators or similar
  • Adding vinegar or sodium bicarbonate to the wash

Excessive laundering can destroy elastic, destroy the water repellency, make the fabric go bald, reduce the performance of your nappies, drastically reduce the lifespan and will render your guarantee void.

The use of Tots Bots Potion detergent is recommended but not required for warranty coverage.

Tots Bots' decision on any warranty claim is final.

Slim, easy to fit and absorbant

I won one of these nappies in a Nappy Lady competition and after giving it a good test I had to come and buy a few more as I was reaching for it the moment it was dry.

I have tried a lot of brands now and these offer me everything I have been looking for. They are a slim fit and slim looking (which I prefer when out), easy to fit (so my husband will be tempted to give them a go as they have velcro rather than poppers) and I find them really absorbant. I can reliably get over 3 hours in one, handy on a trip out or if I know we are due a long nap after a change.

I also like the flexibility of being able to add more absorbancy. The only downside is they take a while to dry - but that's the price you pay for such absorbancy. Highly recommend.

We are so in love with these that we switched to only use those as our day diapers now. Supersoft on baby, do not leak and work really well directly from the start! My only wish is Totsbots would have kept the old velcro tabs but that’s just personal preference

These do not leak and ate super soft. Very versatile design, allows to use them in several different ways. These are my favourite cloth nappies amongst the ones we have used.

A really versatile nappy

I received this nappy to review as part of my role as a TNL ambassador.
I am very impressed by this nappy. It has lovely soft rolled leg elastics which I love (just like the Easyfit did) and a built-in staydry layer on the snap-in pad, I think it must be such a comfortable nappy for babies to wear!
I like that you can use the snap-in pad and/or stuff the pocket with inserts, whichever works best for your family.
We have even used it just the main nappy with no pad or inserts for at times when we just need a back-up to catch 1 wee. We practise EC with our 9 month old so this is when we’ve used it, but this could also be handy for just before or after bathtime.
Slow drying time of the main nappy is a definite downside, but it’s a compromise for the extra absorbency!
I think this could be a great choice for childcare settings due to the Velcro fastening, built-in staydry lining of the pad and option to boost the nappy easily.

tnlambassador This is a fantastic nappy. This is an excellent option for daytime and would be ideal for childcare. I prefer this to the Easyfit (Totsbots previous AIO nappy) for many reasons. The staydry snap in insert is lovely both in terms of absorbency and help baby feel dry, If using the nappy without the insert on a smaller baby I prefer to use a liner.
The core alone is really absorbent but isn't the slowest drying AIO on the market.
This fits a wide weight range including my younger baby as well as my chunky 2 year old. This is designed so it can be boosted at night using the pocket, as well as for potty training as a child could wear it without any inserts for small accdients. While I wouldn't buy it for the latter two reasons alone, the idea that it can be used in these ways makes it versatile and a good economical choice. Plus it fits my babies nicely - no harsh sock marks from tight elastics, the velcro doesn't rub and its not too chunky. I'd really recommend the nappy as a really reliable and absorbent velcro option. Plus it has the added eco benefit of being made from recycled bottles and ethically made in the UK. Well done, Totsbots
