Excellent Newborn Nappies 21 May 2024 | Constance
These worked so well for our newborn, and were so easy to fold. We used with XS airflows and the containment was excellent.

These are our favourite nappies for our newborn. I love being able to customize the size when folding, and I find that they rarely leak. We use the jo fold for our little girl and haven't needed to change it since birth (she's six weeks now). I would highly recommend!

Great newborn nappy solution 24 May 2022 | Laura
I have used the muslinz plus motherease wraps for two weeks now on my new born twins and it is a really easy to use solution with no leaks or poonamis. The only poonami in two weeks was using a disposable. The jo fold is very easy to master and they wash well at 60’. They do need changing every 2-3 hours and two together is bulky at the start over night.

Great Newborn Nappy Choice! 14 March 2022 | Emma
I am so glad I chose Muslinz as our new born nappy. My reason to cloth nappy is mainly for environmental reasons, and clothing from birth really helps because you use SO many nappies in the early weeks (we were changing 15-20 a day!). Using Muslinz & wraps made that possible without a huge expense.
The drying time is also what makes a huge difference, I can dry the Muslinz on an airer easily in a few hours.
I use the Jo Fold with a fleece liner and Rumparooz Newborn wraps (which I also highly recommend). We’re 8 weeks in, have never had a poo explosion and rarely get a wee leak. Winner!

Perfect for a newborn during daytime 26 February 2022 | Jayne
Highly recommend the white one! Good quality and good price! I started to use cloth nappy with my newborn 3.25kg, bat and jo fold on day 6. First, I used terry square (with littlelamb fleecy liners , size 1 wrap, fasteners) it works great for night, no leakage at all but it’s way too bulky. I would like my baby to have more room to move around during daytime, therefore I go for the muslin and it’s much slimmer. I had a pack of 12 muslin and a pack of 12 terry square which can last 2days.

Brilliant for newborns, with our first we didn't cloth until 8 weeks as we went straight to BTP and found them too big. With our second she has been in cloth since day one thanks to muslinz. Containment and absorbency are brilliant.

Love these. I have a very sicky baby and we go through so many muslins. These are the best I’ve found though, they are nice and thick, and they hold their shape in the wash

Great newborn nappies - beware colour run 21 May 2021 | Jennifer
I’ve been really happy with these as a cheap option for newborn nappies (secured with a nappy nippa and a Motherese Airflow wrap). However, when I chucked these in an initial 40C wash before first use, they did dye all my white prefolds and wipes a fetching mint green colour.

Got the white ones. Washed them before using but after a few washes, they were not as soft as expected. They’re okay - thin and lightweight. They are not bulky for the baby. The thing that bothers me is the ‘lines’ on the fabric are not symmetric/same.

These muslins are great, so absorbant, great size and multi-functional. Best ones I've bought. I've found they snag a bit with the nappi nippa's so prefer to use pins to keep them lasting longer.

I was new to muzlin folds. Slimmer fitting than shaped nappies for newborn. Wash well, after reading other reviews I chose the grey and white ones as bold colours runs and fade.
So far washing well and no stains left behind

It is as advertised. What I like about it is that it is lightweight and easy to fold to whichever fold you require. Doesn't make the nappies as bulky as prefolds and fits for birth to potty. Also, useful for any other things that you need it for, such as burp cloths.

These are great for my small baby, less bulky than Terry squares so she can actually kick her legs around. Dries very quickly. Very simple snd have tried multiple folds. Still using them at 4.5 months as she’s only reached 5kg/11lbs. I do change every 2-3 hours as absorbency not as good but that’s ok as they come in packs of 12. I use them with kijani wraps.

Perfect nappies for toddlers too 31 October 2020 | Rya
I used these occasionally as newborn nappies but ended up going down the route of newborn then BTP pockets for days and 2 parters for nights. My main sticking point with cloth is the drying time along with ease of use.
I had 24 of these as I bought them thinking I would use them full time as newborn nappies, then burp cloths etc. Recently they have been lying around and I thought, before I relegate them to cleaning rags, I would try them again on my 14m old. Wow - one muslin pad folded last’s an easy 4 hours for my light wetter, comparable to a baba+boo booster. Soaked but no leaks and takes no time at all to dry.
I’m so impressed I’ve decided to use these as our daytime nappies at home - I fold in a little lambs hemp booster using jo fold and this makes for a super slim, super absorbent and super fast drying nappy! Very happy!

I knew my baby would be small so required a nappy that would suit small babies...we went for the muslin folded nappies. We use the origami fold, the size is easily adjustable to grow with your baby. The nappy lady advised to change every 2 hours which suits us as feeds are roughly this too so we are continuing to use them during the night without having to wake up extra. Our first use of the nappies I lost track of time and baby ended up needing a full change so the 2 hours is a good changing guide. Been using them for nearly two weeks and are really happy with everything. My husband was thinking he'd never get the fold but after watching me a couple of times he's absolutely got the hang of it. I've also used these in the middle of a park whilst sat on a bench so its doable on the go. Cheap and good value for money. We bought 24 with the view to wash every 2nd day. 6 wraps needed for this amount of folded nappies as advised by the nappy lady. They wash well and dry quickly.

Lovely mint colour and perfect size for newborn 27 July 2020 | Sally
I used the muslinz from birth at the hospital and they take a bit of getting used to the folds and a crying newborn! But they are the perfect size and absorbency for our little one.

Excellent newborn nappies 29 May 2020 | Sarah
I used these in conjunction with some close Pop-in newborn nappies expecting them to be a bit of a faff. However, both me and my husband much prefer the Muslinz over the pop-ins. They last sooo much longer than the pop-ins and dry really fast. We make up the nappies in the Jo fold straight after drying them so that when baby needs changing they are ready to use and it really doesn’t take that long to do once have practised a few times. We have had a couple of poo leaks when my son has done some big poos but otherwise have easily lasted 5/6 hours with a Motherease wrap. We are still using these now and my son is nearly 10 weeks old. We had to stop using the pop ins around 8 weeks as they would only last 90mins to 2 hours. I would highly recommend them.

Would not recommend at all. Look beautiful until first wash when the colours run and you are left with a mess.
DO NOT WASH WITH ANYTHING YOU CARE ABOUT ESPECIALLY NAPPIES!
I am really suprised the nappy lady sells these, i am really disappointed.

Cost-effective newborn nappies 23 April 2020 | Hazel
We're using these as nappies so bought the white and therefore have no issues with colour run. They wash and dry beautifully and are good quality. Using them with bambinex nappy liners and the recommended Jo fold and nappy nippas (the nappy lady YouTube video was very helpful). I had to overlap quite a lot to get them to fit our newborn son, he's 6lb 12oz, I don't think they'd fit a smaller baby, maybe with a different fold? We also used disposables for the first week until his cord dropped off and I think this was the right choice as they come up a bit close to his belly button. We are having a few problems with nappy rash (not too bad) even though we're changing every few hours as recommended with newborn (and as you need to with how often they were and poo). I have bought some barrier cream to try and may also try doubling up the muslins.

These were bought to make into nappies. A bit fiddly at first but soon got the hang of it. We used the origami style. Works perfectly well for a 8.5lb baby. Will alter fold as and when baby grows so will last a while as a nappy. Washes well.

Great nappies - when am I supposed to stop? 11 March 2020 | Amanda
I've been using these since day 2 for my 8lb/50th centile baby. For the first 6 weeks I used the bat fold secured with a nippa and since then the 'pickford' fold (a modified Gaynor) which is great. Absolutely no poo leaks, a few wet leaks mostly due to not making sure the legs are tucked in.
I have 2 packs which is more than enough for a wash every other day. It takes about a minute to fold each square so I do them all at once, folding a fleece liner in as I go so they're all ready for the next day or two.
The first few weeks I had some newborn rumparooz/blueberry covers, and from about 8 weeks I started using one size covers. I like blueberry capris but I've found my bare & boho covers also work well and are less leaky than their own inserts.
Now at 12 weeks/13lb and I don't see any reason to stop using them - I reckon I can fold in a hemp booster and keep them going a little longer.

These are fab quality, by far the best muslin squares I have ever found.
I use for nappies, with either motherease wraps or bambino miosoft wraps. I would say a must for newborns, my lil one is still in them and she’s nearly 4 months. Drying speed is so super quick, even in the house they will nearly be dried in an hour, on airer in front of radiator.
Also they wash really well and even hold there shape (I give them a quick shake when they come out of machine)
I have 4 kiddies and also run my local nappy library so I have tried many types, but these are always my reliable favs, and the bonus is, it is actually a very budget friendly cloth nappy route

Have been using these on my 2 week old girl since birth, she’s only 6lb 8oz and quite slim, so I was worried about fit. But with a folded down Jo fold they fit her fine, we use a small Airflow over the top and have had 0 leaks! Super easy to wash and dry too, I stuck with white based on previous reviews.

Premature and tiny babies 08 August 2019 | Victoria
I was keen to start using fabric nappies as using disposables felt terrible! My baby was very premature so these lovely quality, pretty muslin squares seemed a good option as I can fold them to size. It was suggested by The Nappy Lady they fit 7lb - 12lb. Unfortunately I had to wait until my little one was around 9lb as they absolutely swamped her and I could fit any of her clothes over the nappies, even after filing them into smaller squares. I was bitterly disappointed to be advised they would be suitable as it meant that I had to keep using disposable nappies until she grew. There was another option of a shaped nappy which on reflection might have been a better choice.
Now she is bigger, at 9lb 6oz, once folded down they fit her beautifully. Not always great at keeping the poo in but I think that is more user error and I hope to become more proficient!
Over all though, for a new born 9lb and over, these are a lovely quality option. They wash and dry well so all good! (I iron them too as I like a crisp muslin!)

We are using these with Mother Ease Rikki wraps on our newborn (born at 3010g, she’s now 3680g at almost 6 weeks and has skinny legs). They work very well with us. We do use boosters also and also soak them when there is poo. We are finding them very absorbent and leak free.

I initially bought these muslin squares to cloth nappy my newborn and heard these were good to use folded under a waterproof wrap for a small newborn. But unfortunately didn’t work out for that use as my babies cord stump was still healing and the damp cloth was prolonging the healing. So I used disposable nappies until it healed then started using my fitted nappies on my baby since he was then big enough for them (about 9lbs by then.) But these muslin squares are great as burp cloths and to wipe away baby spit up - which my baby is very sicky! I also use these on the changing mat to soak up any extra pee/poop when baby has his nappy off! So I have plenty of these as I’m constantly using them and it’s a bonus they dry so quickly.

I have really enjoyed using muslins with my newborn. They are absorbent and coupled with appropriate liners are good for both day and night time use. He is 6 days old and his skin looks great currently!
My real disappointment with these muslins is that the green colour has run spectacularly. This has ruined other clothes and has resulted in significant fading of the muslin. This is on a 40 wash and despite the suggested pre-washes.
I wouldn't recommend this product for this reason.

These look and feel v nice.
I had hoped to use as newborn nappies but they are too big. I hope that I will still be able to use them as our baby gets bigger. I have been using the muslinz bamboo squares as boosters inside other newborn nappies I already have and that has been effective.

Great nappies for a newborn 29 July 2018 | Elizabeth
We are using these as nappies for our tiny newborn and love them. I was sceptical about how absorbent they would be but with a wrap they are spot on. Atm She doesn’t go more than 3 hours without a feed and nappy change so jotbsure they would last much longer than that. This brand is better than others - washes far better and minimal shrinkage. We use with fleece liners. We had to cut the muslins in half for our prem tiny baby and use the jo fold but once we figured that out they aren’t too bulky or fiddly. Definitely recommend. And great for general use once she fits into her one size shaped nappies.

I am using these as nappies on my newborn. The absorbency has been fine so far. I use a fleece liner so it is soft against my babies skin. Plan to use them to line the changing mat when my little one outgrows them. Struggling with the jelly rolls so have had one poo explosion but happens with the disposables as well.

Bought 2 packs of these - it's great having loads. Use them for burp cloths, as nappies in wraps, wiping spills, as a light blanket for naps in the living room, for catching that deadly 'fresh air wee' during changes...

I bought these to use as newborn nappies and as general mop up cloths with a newborn. They are very soft and absorbent, especially after a few washes. Personally I found them too big for our teeny little 6lb baby and wasn't able to get good containment round his little chicken legs, despite trying various folds, but that may also be due to operator error! They definitely absorbed wee well though. I would recommend having a stash of these as they are great for all sorts and we still use them for nappies when all others are in the wash.

Excellent value for money 03 May 2017 | Hannah
Very good product, I used these with some motherease wraps and nappy nippa grip as a really low cost way of trailing reusable nappies and was really happy with them. They wash well, dry very quickly and if you decide that reusable nappies isn't your thing you can obviously still use them for sick. They really are much better quality than what you get in the supermarket and much better value for money considering there are 12 in a pack and they're larger than what you'd generally find in shops.

These absorb very readily and they wash well at 40°C. They also dry easily. One accidentally went in the dryer on too hot a setting and shrank, but seems to have recovered after a couple of washes. The only thing that initially annoyed me slightly is that they aren't perfectly square. I've got over it.

Have been using these for the past 4 months and the quality is still good after countless washes especially compared to some given to us from elsewhere which seem to have thinned out. These ones have remained strong. Originally bought them to use as nappies but found the folding too much of a hassle for our small baby. Great Muslins for every day use.
