Wrap Overview

The Rumparooz Newborn nappy Cover is one of our most popular newborn wraps.  It is designed to grow with your baby over the first few months before you move onto a Onesize wrap which tends to happen around around 10/12lbs.

Rumparooz newborn covers can be used multiple times before washing but should be placed into the laundry if it becomes soiled. The usual wrap change frequency is every 4 changes unless it becomes soiled.

Kangacare uses a water resistant polyester TPU which is a solvent-free polyester fabric that has been laminated with a thermoplastic polyurethane using a heat bonding process, not chemicals. This process is low in toxicity and is better for the natural environment then traditional PUL.

Fastening

The wrap fastens at the waist using poppers in my favourite vertical popper position. The vertical position holds the tabs firmly in place and minimises wing droop.

Sizing

The Rumparooz Newborn nappy cover is designed to fit from 4-15lbs.  The Rumparooz newborn wrap has 3 adjustable rise settings allowing you to make the wrap longer as baby grows.

To use with

Rumparooz newborn covers are very versatile and are designed to fit over most shaped newborn nappies such as Bimbles or Bambams but also flat nappies such as muslins or prefolds.

Care & Warranty

Kangacare Care Guide

  • Prewash nappy twice before first use. Nappy will reach full absorbency after approximately 6 washes.
  • Do not soak soiled nappies before washing. Dry Pail only.
  • Rinse before your main wash
  • Max wash temperature 40 degrees
  • Use powder not liquid detergent
  • No harsh stain removers or bleach
  • No fabric softeners. They will reduce absorbency
  • Line dry or tumble dry on cool. Avoid line drying in direct sunshine during UK hottest months as the heat of the sun can damage or fade nappies.
  • Avoid nappy creams or use a disposable liner if you have to use them.

Kangacare Warranty

Kangacare warranty is only for the original purchasers of the products. The warranty starts from date of purchase not first use.

Snaps:
Kangacare offer a lifetime warranty on all snaps.

Elastics:
Kangacare have a 3 month warranty on all elastics. Elastics that have become un-attached in the casing, stitching undone, or have a defect due to a manufacturing error are covered under the warranty. Elastic that has been dissolved or become corroded due to detergents or cleaning agents, or have given out due to time, wear and tear are not covered under the warranty. To get the longest life out of your nappies and their elastics please chose a detergent from their recommended list.

Sewing:
Kangacare have a 6 month warranty on all stitching and seams. Manufacturer sewing defects will arise immediately or within the first couple of washes. In nappies, this warranty includes stitching that will affect the functionality. This includes stitching that encases elastics in the legs and back. This warranty does not cover top stitching that has been "popped", which is aesthetic, and does not affect the function of the nappy. This is usually caused by the over-stretching of the tabs. Holes or snags that occur in any of the fabrics due to wear and tear of the product are not covered under Kangacare's warranty.

General Warranty Information:
Defects may either be repaired or replaced at the discretion of Kanga Care. All nappies must arrive clean, unstained, lint free, and dry.  All nappies with excessive wear will not be replaced or repaired under their warranty. One Size nappies are designed to last through the nappy life cycle of 1 child. A one size nappy is 4 sizes in one diaper and is used continuously for 3+ years, unlike sized nappies which are only used for an average of 4-6 months per size. When well cared for, many families are able to use the same one size diapers on a second child. At this time they would recommend purchasing a new set of inserts to refresh the absorbency back to its max. One size nappies lasting through multiple children is not a guarantee or promise. Kangacare can not guarantee how long they will last. Just like any other garment, during the process of using, washing, and drying the nappy, wearing will occur. The life expectancy of our products depends on the degree of care taken, the quantity of nappies in your rotation and type of abuse the nappy is given. The average cloth nappy replaced 375 disposable diapers.

What is not covered under their warranty:

  • Leaks
  • Sizing/Fit Issues
  • Lack of absorbency/repelling
  • Staining
  • Damage
  • Wear and Tear

What will void your warranty:

  • Washing instructions are not followed, including, but not limited to:
  • Use of Sanitising cycle while washing or water temperature above 130ºF/54°C
  • Use of and or soaking in bleach, Borax based cleaners, Oxy Clean, or any other caustic substances that may damage the materials and compromise the integrity of the elastics and waterproof nature of the waterproof laminate.
Kangacare's decision on any warranty claim is final.

Favourite Wraps!
Rating:

I love these wraps. We have used over muslinz since LO was born at 6lbs 5oz and still going strong at 3 months old. Compared to other wraps the material is really soft and I prefer a lot of the designs too. The double gusset is a MUST and has saved sooo many breastfed poos! We have never had a poo leak, but will get wee leaks through wicking but this is only if the muslin is too saturated to cope.

LO is almost 12lbs but we are on the last rise popper, so I’m not sure we will make it to 15lbs. Only other downside is the max wash temp is 40, I do all my nappy washing at 60 so it’s a shame these can’t go in with them, although I’ll be honest I mistakenly have done a few times and they have come out fine - just probably not wise to do it all the time.

Overall I’m really happy with them so will be ordering the onesize to move into!

Excellent for small newborn

Used these from when my 5lb15oz baby with slim hips was 3 days old up initially over folded muslins and then over some preloved totbots fitted nappies until 4months. We started on the smallest possible size in these so not convinced they would fit a 4lb baby and we had to stop using them with a waist popper left to go on each size as they weren't long enough any more. Containment was excellent...only one poo leak and it was minor...the leg gussets do wick when the nappy is saturated...we also needed more wraps than suggested as kept getting poo onto the internal surface of the gussets.

Good but did not last long and leaks through label on TPU

We used these over muslins for the newborn stage. Our daughter was born at just over average weight - 7lb 14oz and started using cloth from about one week of age. These were a great fit, easy to adjust and the double leg gussets were fantastic for containing runny newborn poos in the early days. Unfortunately she outgrew these after about 6-7 weeks and we started getting leaks through the label which is stitched through the TPU at the back. Our wraps from other brands which have a label on the side don’t have this problem. I would recommend these to people having smaller babies/ premature babies/ multiples - you’ll get more wear out of them. The nappy lady do very speedy delivery if unsure you can wait until baby is born to buy wraps if using cloth from birth or just after.

I'm gutted a lot of the designs had sold out but happy with the ones I got....they're covered by clothes at the end of the day anyway. Perfect for our 5lb baby, adjustable sizing, good containment if the nappies are changed at appropriate intervals. Wash really well at 60degrees!

Will be fine when he's bigger but rubbed our newborn's healing belly button

Bought these to go over Muslinz for our newborn son because the recommended Mothersease or Blueberry covers weren't in stock. They're not as good as the Thirsties XS which we also bought which feature an umbilical cut out, they rubbed his tummy button and made it bleed a bit. I think they'll be fine once he's a little bigger, they're more adjustable because they have poppers for adjusting the length from back to front, not just around the waist.
