Product Details

Threaded Armor are the adult range from the same company that makes Super Undies. These are technically a nappy rather than pants however Protective Briefs are designed to NOT look like a nappy. They are world-class waterproof incontinence underwear with flexible absorbency!

These Protective Briefs are by far the most absorbent option of their range.

Features:

Waterproof gussets fully line both sides, locking in wetness. Extra insurance by day, but a complete necessity for heavy nighttime wetting and side sleepers.
Waterproof top-end gussets line the front and back of these undies, ready to hold back wetness for tummy sleepers and heavy wetters.
Soft comfy fleece lines the waterproof tabs that securely hug your hips, keeping everything locked in place, while feeling like a dreamy cloud.
Ultralight ribbons in the top-end gussets hold snaps, ready to securely keep your insert in place. No shifty movement in this absorbency, it stays where it needs to be!

Protective Briefs are for men and woman. The pattern does not change for gender. The absorbency may be placed in more strategic areas based on your needs. Ladies: use the Flexible Absorbency System laid flat and snapped in from front to back. Gentlemen: At night and if necessary, feel free to fold a Step-up insert in half and place it in front, where more absorbency will be required.

VAT POLICY
The VAT Policy for incontinence products is complicated for both customers and suppliers. We've tried to simplify it below.
The incontinence products for sale on our site DO NOT have VAT added to them. We have already removed it before you purchase them. This VAT rate is classified as the Zero rate of VAT.

Why do they not have VAT?
Incontinence products are eligible for Zero-Rated VAT because they are classed as part of the VAT Notice 701/7: VAT reliefs for disabled and older people.
The information contained in the link is vital to how the Government determines why and who should get the zero rate of VAT. Please read the information in this leaflet for a more in-depth explanation of the VAT Notice.

Who is eligible to purchase VAT free incontinence products?
If you are ‘chronically sick or disabled’ you are entitled to pay no VAT on Zero-Rated products. You DO NOT have to be means-tested, registered disabled or receive disability benefits to qualify for the Zero-Rated products.
A person is classified as ‘chronically sick or disabled’ if he/she is a person with:
Physical or mental impairment which has a long-term and substantial adverse effect upon his/her ability to carry out everyday activities.
A condition which the medical profession treats as a chronic sickness.

Can my carer buy incontinence products on my behalf and still pay no VAT?
YES. A carer, a partner or anybody for that matter can purchase incontinence products that have Zero-Rated VAT applied if they are acting on behalf of the ‘chronically sick or disabled’ and the products are for the ‘chronically sick or disabled’ personal use.

Who is not included?
The VAT notice states that VAT relief does not include an elderly person who’s not disabled or chronically sick or any individual who's only temporarily disabled or incapacitated, such as with a broken limb.

How to tell us you are eligible?
On each product page there is a separate box  where you can input the name of the person who is eligible for the VAT relief and a tick box to confirm that they fulfill all criteria for eligibility to pay no VAT on eligible products. You do not have to provide any details about your or someone else’s condition.

Protective briefs

Amazed at how good the pants were. Hesitant that they would not work well enough and would require additional plastic pants. How wrong was I. Comfortable and absorbent enough to wear on their own. A great alternative to disposable nappies and although seems expensive, will be cheaper in the long run and doesn't have the appearance of a nappy.

The pants are good, but they are not leakproof

These are over-engineered, I would much prefer a cheaper pant without the fiddly clips for the inserts. The outer pants are waterproof, but the fleecy leg binding is not, and leaks get through. Nevertheless, in the absence of anyone else making effective waterproof pants, I suppose these will have to do. Personally I prefer the Bambinex nappies that you sell.

OAB, 47 active male. I get the tena pants and tena men 2's given to me by the NHS. And I have been searching for a washable alternative. With the tena's I have been swapping level 2 men pads in and out, using them as very effective inserts. So I was looking for a similar system, but with washables. And the threaded armour pants are great for this. They are actually slightly better, depending on the inserts. Their leg guards are slightly tighter and also absorbant, and from the first use I noticed that wee traveled further back, using some of the wasted back obsorbancy. They are comfy. Took me a while to get used to a slightly increased bulk, and feeling. Still no-one can see that I'm wearing them, and I actually prefer having cotton on my bum that a disposable. More like underwear. At first they are irritatingly fussy, but you do speed up and get used to them. The press studs get easier. The pant, which is basically an outer shell with tiny areas of absorbancy ( sides, leg guards) is really well made. You can wipe it out between changing the inserts, (probably not always necessary). I would look around for third party inserts, which might be cheaper. This is an expensive nappy. But hopefully it will last for ages.

Great product but hasn’t worked for us

The product is brilliant for helping the environment which was half of my goal for buying this. The other half was my 12yr old daughter who has significant bladder problems. Unfortunately it leaked every night that we tried it resulting in a soaking wet bed so that’s a shame. I was hoping it would be better than disposable pull ups but it didn’t work for us. Gutted I wasted the money.
